Doggyspace: An Online Community For Dogs & Their Owners

| Comments (2)

fun-tenor-just-hanging-out.jpg Social networking is all the rage these days -- even when it comes to finding friends of the four-legged kind! Thanks to Doggyspace, dogs (and their owners) have a place to gather online and share stories, videos, pictures, and more.

Yep, Doggyspace is "a doggy's place on the Internet".

In case you're not familiar with social networks yet... simply put, they are websites that promote communities of people with similar interests. The biggest reason to visit a social networking site is to find others who enjoy the same things you do. It's a great way to mix & mingle with people you have things in common with -- even though you've probably never met, and you likely never will.

Much like many of the social networks for humans, Doggyspace allows dogs to have their own network of friend, post photos, videos, or find that hot date or two. It’s a fun and exciting way for dog owners to get together online with their pets!" -- Doggyspace

Here's why I like Doggyspace...

DogPause Food Bowls Help Dogs Eat More Slowly

| Comments (0)

dog-pause-dog-food-bowl.jpg You know it’s not healthy for people to eat too fast, and that’s also true for dogs. The same uncomfortable things can happen -- like gas, bloating, choking, even vomiting (nothing fun about that!).

If your pooch is a gulper, the partitioned dog food bowl by DogPause might be the solution you’re looking for.

It's a fun way to get your dog to eat more slowly!

Planet Of The Dogs: A Book Review

| Comments (1)

planet-of-the-dogs-book.jpgThe book, Planet of the Dogs by Robert McCarty, is an enjoyable read for children (maybe ages 7 -12?) and dog-lovers who enjoy fun fiction books -- but don't have a lot of time to spare.

It's a quick read. (I like that!)

But it's not just one of those "one-line per page" kinds of books. You know, the kind that you feel ripped off because it's not really a 'book' as much as it is a 'to do list' or a notepad of 'happy thoughts'.

pet-a-go-logo2.gifLooking for pet toys, treats, and other items for your dog?... If so, then PetAGo might be just the online store that you're looking for.

I was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection of items that they have in inventory. And, they also have some of the more unique dog beds and dog toys that I've seen.

PetAGo... Everything for your pet

Dog Buffs: A Review

| Comments (0)

dog-buffs-website-homepage.jpgDog Buffs is a website about dogs that is filled with "practical tips from canine experts".

(...no, they're not dog experts running around in the buff.)

Initially, I had to chuckle at the title. But in a good way. I like it. It gave me a good first impression.

Our goal is to create a great library of real dog wisdom, that will be well organized, continually improved upon, and truly useful to people and their canine companions, and we are committed to that goal." Source

Beneful Dog Food: A Review

| Comments (3)

healthy-ingredients-in-beneful2.jpgFor me, it all started with a free copy of Dog's Life, a free 4-color magazine subscription from Beneful.

On the back of my first issue of Dog's Life was a $2.00 coupon good on any size bag of Beneful dog food.

I used that coupon at my local Target. And my dog has been hooked on Beneful ever since.

  • Our dog pooping. The long-awaited poop. There was so much in there, he actually went 3 times in a matter of seconds. A very proud moment.
  • Tenor is pretty much back to his old self these days -- 8 days after surgery. Now he's just bored.
  • Tenor is eating fine and getting around okay 8 days after surgery -- but he still won't put much weight on his foot.
  • Our dog is resting on a bed sheet out in the backyard after TPLO surgery.
  • Tenor dog is crouching down into a seated position -- on top of the bad leg! It didn't phase him at all. By the way the tongue action is because he'd just had a drink of water.
  • Here, Tenor is lying directly on his bad leg. No worries. The only thing that was difficult for him during the first week of recovery was lying down on bulky things like blankets and dog pillows. It seemed to put extra pressure on parts of his leg.
  • Ice cubes are good for a dog right after surgery. I don't think our dog ate or drank much while he was in the hospital. He seemed to be running a fever, and he couldn't get enough water and ice cubes.
  • Here you can see how bad the swelling is in the right rear ankle -- and this is while he's lying down! The swelling was on top of the foot, as well as in the ankle.
  • A closeup of our dog's stitches and bruising after TPLO surgery.
  • The x-rays of our dog's leg, post-surgery. This is his right rear leg. The metal plate is on the inside of his leg, the screws point to the outside of his leg.
  • Dr. Beckman is showing us how to place a towel under his belly/groin area, then with both ends of the towel in your hand, lift the dog's back-end up so the toes don't touch the ground.
  • Tenor is wishing he could just go to sleep and not feel so uncomfortable any more.
