How To Stop Your Dog From Un-Rolling The Toilet Paper

Destin playing with the toilet paper again. Is your dog unspooling the toilet paper from its roll on a regular basis?

I just discovered a quick trick that will most likely stop your four-legged friend from playing with the toilet paper roll in the future!

Chances are... you'll find yourself asking, "Now why didn't I think of that?!"

How To Stop Your Dog From Unspooling The Toilet Paper Roll

It's simple!...

Just turn the roll around so that it pulls from BEHIND rather than in front.

Destin the toilet paper dog. From my experience, switching up the toilet paper direction appears to make it less fun for mischievous canines (and cats) to play with.

It kinda makes sense... because it takes more effort for your pet to freely dispense the toilet paper this way.

But when the paper rolls FORWARD, all it takes is a couple of swipes with the paw to create a glorious pile of white softly-scented fluff!

...I don't know, but it worked for us!

Destin hasn't done it since.

Then again... just don't leave a roll of toilet paper on the edge of the counter or something. To dogs, they're just as fun to play with this way:

A tip from the book, Teach Your Dog To Behave:

If your dog enjoys grabbing the toilet paper and dragging it around the house (toilet paper unrolling), you can either leave the bathroom door closed or set up a nasty surprise to teach him to keep his paws off.

Those are cute pictures. My Jett, a FlatCoated Retriever, doesn't just unfurl the toilet paper - he eats the whole roll.

I have a question: After Destin's Double Ballsectomy, did Jim ever wear those boxer shorts again after Destin was finished with them?

Well, what do you do with a 100 pound yellow lab pup that just removes the entire roll, holder and all, and runs through the house with such pride?

Mary, my springer chases the sunlight around the room. All day. Every day. We have windows that go from floor to ceiling and he chases the shadows on the floor. This is our first springer (we've always had labs) and while he's a very loving dog, I think he's very determined. I'm not surprised by your dog's behavior; I sometimes think mine's a bit neurotic.

Hi, Our lil Shih Tzu Sammie LOVES all paper, but
especially toilet paper. We finally just took the rolls off- downstairs she doesn't bother if you don't leave it hanging, but upstairs, another story. She also chews alot, but not to destroy, just to find a toy, ball etc. under the sofa, table etc. I HOPE she will outgrow that. She is 2 now, but we baby her. Jackie
