Riding In Cars With Dogs...

Have you seen one of these yet?

The Comfort Cruiser windows chin rest for dogs available from Pet Smart.gif

It's a chin rest for your dog.

If you and your dog go on a lot of car rides together, then you need to try this!

We got our Comfort Cruiser from Pet Smart.

Destin just loves it!

In brief, it makes a bumpy car ride less noticeable -- from your dog's point of view.

Here's more about the Doggie Comfort Cruiser.

Warning: Don't Drive Too Fast!

Destin using his doggie chin rest while sticking his head out the car window. At speeds over 55 mph, we would remove the chin rest from the window -- much to Destin's disappointment.

The reason: The faster you drive, the more the wind loosens the grip. Eventually, it will just blow off completely and land in the back seat.

Weeks ago however, (on a mad dash through town to get to the Smoothie King before it closed) I guess we hit speeds of 55 mph, and without thinking about it, we ended up losing the Comfort Cruiser that night.

My dog likes to stick her head out of the window when we take her for a ride. She always puts her paw on the window up, window down button on the arm rest. A dog choke to death doing this before the driver could help. Please use your window locks whenever your pet is in the car. Goes for children also.

I would say that the Comfort Cruiser described above only mildly absorbs doggie slobber around the window. It's soft and squishy, but not very absorbent.

While you may see slightly less drool collecting on your car windows, I would consider that a bonus -- because for the most part, I don't think this product could be counted on to work in that way.

It's great for its intended purpose though! Your dogs will love the comfort.

love the review; i take my two labradors with me whenever possible and thought this might be a great thing to get for them...one question, does the window rest do anything to absorb some of the doggie schlobber? my boys just schlobber up the windows something fierce! so, i am hoping that not only would the product be a safety/comfort item, but also, potentially helpful in controlling goobered up windows.

thanks for getting back to me.

sincerest regards from another dog lover,

susan

Credit where credit is due...
Thought I'd share something that highlights just how COOL this company is that makes the Comfort Cruiser window bumper for dogs (Dura-Crafts Corp).

I recently received the following e-mail:
"Thank you for all the good advertising about our Comfort Cruiser. With appreciation we would like to send you a replacement. Please send me ship to address.
Sincerely,
Dura-Crafts Corp."

(As stated above, we lost ours... A couple days later, we received in the mail TWO -- not one -- Comfort Cruisers!)

So, if you've got a dog, and they ride in the car with you on occasion, then I encourage you to try the Comfort Cruiser. It only costs a couple of bucks, and as you can see from the photo above... dogs love it!
