How To Clean Your Dog’s Ears Yourself

Are you unsure when you need to clean out your dog’s ears?

Well, look inside your dog’s ears, and if you see brown specks of wax then it’s time to clean your dog’s ears.

The following video provides 3 easy steps and some great tips for cleaning a dog’s ears:

  1. Put 10 drops of dog ear cleaning solution in your dog’s ears.  Massage the ears 1-2 minutes to loosen the wax.  Let your dog shake his head.
  2. Take a cotton ball and wipe all around the outside portion of your dog’s ears.  Do NOT go deep into the ear!  Only wipe the part of the ear you can see.
  3. Use a Q-tip and clean out the crevasses in the upper ear. (Again, not deep inside the ear, only those parts you can see.)

Remember to make this a positive experience for your dog and check your dog’s ears every so often.

You’ve seen how to do it in the video. Now, here’s a detailed breakdown of each of those same steps for cleaning a dog’s ears… in writing.

Don’t wait. If your dog has itchy ears, they should be treated immediately.
