As many of you know, I'm not much of a football fan. My husband and my dogs have always loved football, but not me.

To give you an idea...
During last night's Superbowl, Jim asked:

Isn't Tom Brady dating Jessica Simpson?

To which I replied:

NO... Jessica Simpson was dating Tony Romo! Now quit asking me all these football questions, would ya?

Yes, that is the extent of my football knowledge, folks.

So anyway... last night before, during, and after Superbowl XLII, I channel-surfed over to Animal Planet and watched some of Puppy Bowl IV with my dog.

Here's how that went. [Hint: too cute!]

Brad asked how to teach a dog to bare his teeth on command.

My very tame American Eskimo, Jersey, (who wouldn't hurt a flea by the way) used to show his teeth. But it was only when our new little puppy, Destin -- and then years later our newest puppy, Tenor -- would get on his nerves.

So out of frustration, Jersey would simply bare his teeth as if to show some sort of dominance to these young pups. It was if he was saying, 'Okay, I've had enough... stay away... I'm done playing.'

It was cute. But it can actually be a scary situation if you don't know you're dog's own limits and how to read a dog's body language.

That said, there are ways that you can teach your dog to 'show teeth'...

I don't normally write about such grim topics here, but I have a very tiny bit of personal experience with this one, so I feel compelled to share with you something that broke in the local news recently.

We don't have a boat yet, but we're going to soon. That's because we're building a new log home on a lake. And a boat will, therefore, be mandatory.

And since we have 2 dogs, we can't wait to take our dogs out boating with us!

We already know that our dogs (especially Destin) like Jeeps... now we'll see how they feel about boats.
