How Human Is Your Dog? Can Your Dog Recognize Words? What About Items In A Photo?
To this day we still know very little about our dogs and what they are capable of.
Have you every been talking to your dog and wondered if he really is understanding what you are saying? I know I have.
In fact, there is a Border Collie named Rico that can understand at least 200 different names for objects and fetch them for his owners. So there's at least one dog that understands the human language!
In a recent article, they looked at how dogs understand iconic images like photographs compared to the real thing.
They took 5 Border Collies, 3 that knew names of different items and the other 2 had no idea. They showed them photos of an item and the dogs went to another room to find the "real" item. Surprisingly, all of the dogs did very well on this experiment!
