Puppy Pictures Site Review

The Puppy Pictures portion of the BreederRetriever.com website is a photo gallery that's presented in the format of a Dog Forum.

I thought this was an interesting concept, so I decided to review it.

Pictures, Pictures, Everywhere!

At the top of the Puppy Pictures Dog Forum page, there are 4 thumbnails featuring the most recent photos submitted by dog owners.

Below the long list of "forum posts", you see a sampling of puppy pictures that others have commented on.

And to the right of that, you see 2 thumbnails of other randomly generated puppy pictures.

You can click on any thumbnail to go to a larger version of that photo and view the sender and when it was submitted.

It's A Dog Forum Of Puppy Pictures

In between the photo thumbnails which appear at the top and bottom of the page, is a listing of practically every breed of dog known to man. It looks like a typical forum, but it's not.

When you click on a breed name, you don't just get a listing of questions, answers, and comments about that breed of dog... you actually see all of the photos that have been submitted for that particular breed of dog!

You can also see at a glance the total number of pictures and any comments that have been posted for the pictures associated with the breed name you clicked on.

If you register" with the site, then you can "rate" the individual photos on a scale from

What I Like Best About This Site:

1. Dog pictures are the main focus.

2. It's presented in such a way that people are already familiar with -- just like a typical forum.

3. It's easy to find your way around and a cinch to use this site. Everything is organized by breed of dog -- with numerous opportunities to click on other cute photos of dogs along the way.

4. You can view at a glance how much participation each breed receives... # of comments, # of photos submitted, as well as the most recent comment about that breed, and the date of the most recent photo that was submitted for that particular breed.

5. It's easy to sort the results in a way that is most meaningful to you... either by rating, posted date, last comment, total # of views, or timeframe (yesterday, since the beginning, over the last 2 weeks).

6. The format encourages participation from other dog lovers... either by posting comments or by submitting your own photos.

7. It's a feel-good site. The wide variety of puppy pictures found here just make you smile.

My Summary...

The only thing that confuses me about this site is the fact that they have a Dog Pictures Dog Forum and a Puppy Pictures Dog Forum and they appear to have similar photos in each. Since there are obviously "puppy" photos in the Dog Pictures forum and "dog" pictures in the Puppy Pictures forum, I wonder if it's clear to those submitting photos what the suggested age ranges are for each of those forums. I would hope this would be clarified and obvious on the "submit" screen each time you upload a photo. Better yet, I think they should just combine the two Forums because most dog owners thing of their adult dog as the cutest "puppy" they've ever seen. Besides, who wants to sift through two separate forums, when all you want to do is find all pictures for a particular breed anyway?

Overall, I think they've done a great job with the Puppy Pictures Dog Forum at BreederRetriever.com. It's a wonderful idea and they've made it fun and easy to browse through hundreds of puppy photos.

So, if dog pictures are your thing... then the Puppy Pictures Dog Forum at the Breeder Retriever site is definitely your game!

It's worth bookmarking -- especially if you're eager to touch base with others who are familiar with your dog's breed.

P.S. The rest of their forums look really interesting too!

I was asked to review Puppy Pictures through ReviewMe.com. I had never been to the BreederRetriever.com website before, but they wanted feedback on what people like and do not like about the Puppy Pictures section of their website. This is a paid (albeit honest) review of Puppy Pictures.
