How To Teach Your Dog To Fetch The Mail (...or How To 'Get' & 'Give' Anything!)

| Comments (0)

united-states-mail-truck.jpgFor some strange reason, all 3 of our dogs have always had a fondness for "getting the mail" (or in some cases, the newspaper).

Here's how we taught our dogs to "get the mail" or "get the paper" and then immediately (before it gets too soggy) "give" it to us.

The Puppy Pictures portion of the BreederRetriever.com website is a photo gallery that's presented in the format of a Dog Forum.

I thought this was an interesting concept, so I decided to review it.

Here's To The Goodlife Pet Video Contest

You've probably seen commercials for The Goodlife Recipe on TV...

Today, August 20th, kicks off the Here's to The Goodlife pet video contest sponsored by The Goodlife Recipe brand food & treats for cats and dogs.

Here's an email I received from Abby on behalf of The Goodlife Recipe:

I've been following your blog ever since we started talking about The Goodlife Recipe products and treats back in January. I know you're always looking for the latest pet news and products (the Cleanup Bag Dispenser is great!), so I wanted to share information about a fun and exciting contest that's being launched this summer called the Here's to The Goodlife pet video contest (www.goodliferecipe.com). The contest is about sharing real moments like the hilarious doggie "boot scoot" clip (a close-competitor to the Stanley Steamer commercial)."

New Toy Alert: Kong Squeaker

According to a survey I was sent from the Kong Company, it appears that they will soon be coming out with a brand new Kong toy called the Kong Squeaker!

Cool! I'm sure my dog (and others) will love it! By the sound of things, they're still toying with the idea of whether or not it will be able to be filled with goodies or not. (I hope so!... That's what makes a Kong a Kong to me...)

Dogs & Loud Noises... Are Ear Plugs Necessary?

| Comments (3)

At the IHRA drag races I attended last month, I photographed several dogs who were accompanying their owners to the races.

The dogs belonged to drag racers and their families who tend to travel with their pets from race to race. In the IHRA drag racing series, there are usually 11 or so races each year -- which means a lot of time on the road, and a lot of loud noises for the dogs.

This led me to wonder... do dogs need ear protection?

What if I take my dog to a race someday? Are there doggie earplugs or something that we should consider?

In support of all dogs everywhere...

In an effort to bring greater awareness to the issue of animal abuse, and give your dog a little something to gnaw on, I thought I'd share with you an interesting new dog toy called The Vick Dog Chew Toy.

[Thanks for the heads up, Randy.]
